Our munchers and grinders are extremely efficient in braking large particles in liquids into small sizes suitable for pumping. They are widely used in waste water treatment, bio waste treatment but also as a key component in production technology.
Munchers and Grinders
3 series from 1 manufacturers
Munchers can be used for many different applications, such as sludge with cotton buds, branches, textiles, preservatives, etc., when pumping into digesters, in front of centrifuges, etc.
Our munchers and grinders are also very suitable for biogas, industrial waste, slaughterhouses, fish processing plants, airports, and other places where there is a risk of clogging, for example, progressive cavity pumps, centrifugal pumps, heat exchangers, and much more.
Munchers are also known as pulverizers, shredders, crushers, macerators, and grinders.
HOW IS A MUNCHER BUILT?
Munchers consist of 2 shafts that run at different speeds to optimize crushing. Usually between 30 and 65 rpm. On the shafts are hardened molybdenum steel blades and spacers, which are available in different thicknesses and are what provide efficient crushing.
GRINDERS FOR VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL PIPEWORK INSTALLATIONS:
Muncher crushers can be installed in vertical and horizontal pipework installations and can also be installed in existing concrete channels, such as wastewater treatment plant inlets.
CAPACITY AND DRY MATTER CONTENT:
Capacity is between 0 - 500 m3/hour and, in normal design, is usable for media with TS up to 8%.
Other features that characterise a Mono Muncher are very low energy consumption compared to other types of crushers, very high efficiency and a long service life. It is not uncommon for a Muncher to not need to be serviced for up to 2 years, however, it is always recommended to have the Muncher inspected once a year.
OVERLOAD PROTECTION:
Munchers can be supplied with a control cabinet that includes, among other things, an integrated PLC that protects the muncher and motor from overloading in the event of jamming and blocking. Via the control unit, the shredder can reverse up to 3 times with increasing torque to try to "spit out" the jammed material. If it is unsuccessful after the 3rd attempt, the machine switches off completely and a signal is sent to, for example, the SRO or other monitoring system that the machine is jammed and requires assistance.
