Andritz Ritz SAT & CAT Series is used for sump dewatering and process transfer of fresh water, white water, pulp suspensions, wastewater and slurries containing large particles. It is especially relevant where the pump operates vertically in a tank or pit and the medium can be abrasive, caustic, fibrous or difficult to pass through conventional narrow channels.
The SAT and CAT families use vertical, submerged, single-stage centrifugal construction with open or vortex impeller arrangements. A large open cross-section and open channels support coarse media, while different suction-pipe lengths allow the pump to be adapted to the required sump depth.
ANDRITZ lists flow up to 800 m³/h, head up to 55 m, pressure up to 16 bar, temperature up to 60 °C and pulp consistency up to 6% for SAT/CAT. The manufacturer also states suitability for suspensions with particle sizes up to 140 mm.
Open passages and abrasion-resistant configurations can reduce blockage and wear risk in difficult sump duties, but material selection remains important for caustic or abrasive media.
