Product description

Boyser LB-M rotary lobe pumps are intended for industrial duties where a high-capacity positive-displacement pump must transfer viscous, solids-laden or shear-sensitive media with predictable flow. Typical selection drivers include process continuity, gentle product handling, the ability to reverse flow and straightforward access to wear components. The range is relevant to wastewater, sludge, food-related process streams and other industrial transfer duties where a compact, self-priming lobe pump can simplify the installation.

The pump uses two synchronised rotors driven through a precision timing-gear system so the rotors do not rely on contact with each other for sealing. Elastomer-coated rotor options help provide a compliant pumping surface for difficult media, while stainless-steel rotor versions are available for duties requiring a metallic pumping element. A separation chamber between the wet end and gearbox helps prevent lubricant from entering the pumped medium if a seal problem occurs, and replaceable wear parts support serviceability.

Current AxFlow data for the LB-M family gives capacities up to 130 m³/h and differential pressure up to 8 bar. Elastomer rotor options include NBR, EPDM and FKM/Viton, while stainless-steel rotor versions are also available; pump casings are offered in stainless-steel grades selected for the application. The published maximum fluid temperature is 80 °C with elastomer-coated rotors and up to 120 °C with stainless-steel rotors, subject to the exact model, seal and material combination.

For lifecycle cost, the value of LB-M lies in a service-friendly construction with accessible pumping elements, replaceable wear components and a robust synchronised drive. Correct selection of rotor material, seal arrangement, speed and operating pressure reduces avoidable wear and helps protect process uptime. AxFlow can support pump sizing, material selection, spare-parts planning and service requirements for the specific duty.

LB-M is suited to larger industrial transfer duties involving viscous, solids-laden or shear-sensitive media. Typical uses include sludge, wastewater, process slurries and selected food-related streams where a rotary lobe pump is appropriate. AxFlow can check the duty conditions and confirm the correct model, materials and speed.
Current AxFlow data lists LB-M capacities up to 130 m³/h. Differential pressure is published up to 8 bar for the family. The allowable duty for a specific model depends on speed, viscosity, temperature, rotor material and system conditions.
Elastomer-coated rotor options include NBR, EPDM and FKM/Viton. Stainless-steel rotor versions are also available for duties that require a metallic rotor. Material compatibility should be confirmed against the fluid, temperature and cleaning regime before ordering.
The rotary lobe principle provides a relatively gentle positive-displacement pumping action. That makes LB-M relevant for many shear-sensitive products when the pump speed and operating point are selected correctly. AxFlow can review product characteristics and recommend an appropriate configuration.
AxFlow can support model identification, spare-parts selection and service planning for Boyser LB-M installations. Wear components, seals and rotor materials should be matched to the exact pump and duty. Contact AxFlow with the pump identification and operating conditions for maintenance or replacement support.
