Product features
- LB-S and LB-M family structure → lets users match compact or higher-capacity duties within one pump platform.
- Positive-displacement lobe pumping → provides predictable transfer of viscous and challenging process media.
- Self-priming capability → supports suction-side installations where the selected duty remains within pump limits.
- Reversible operation → gives process flexibility for filling, emptying and product recovery.
- Elastomer-coated rotor options → support media-specific selection for industrial and selected food-related duties.
- Stainless-steel rotor options → extend the family to applications requiring a metallic pumping element.
- Replaceable wear components → help protect the main pump casing and manage long-term maintenance cost.
- Separation chamber from gearbox → helps protect the process medium from gearbox lubricant if a seal fails.
- LB-S up to 40 m³/h and LB-M up to 130 m³/h → covers a broad range of industrial transfer capacities.
- AxFlow selection and service support → helps match materials, seals, speed and spare parts to the real process duty.
Boyser LB is the industrial rotary lobe pump family that includes the LB-S and LB-M ranges. It is intended for applications where viscous, solids-laden or shear-sensitive media must be transferred with the predictable flow of a positive-displacement pump. The family is relevant to wastewater, sludge, process slurries and selected food-related duties where self-priming capability, reversible operation and robust construction are valuable.
The LB design uses two synchronised rotors driven by a precision timing-gear system. Depending on the duty, rotors can be elastomer-coated or supplied in stainless steel, while replaceable wear components help protect the main pump casing. A separation chamber between the wet end and gearbox helps reduce the risk of lubricant contaminating the pumped medium if a seal problem develops, supporting process protection and easier fault detection.
The current AxFlow Boyser portfolio comprises LB-S for compact duties and LB-M for larger flows. Published family figures reach up to 40 m³/h and 10 bar for LB-S, while LB-M reaches up to 130 m³/h and 8 bar; temperature capability depends on rotor and seal selection, with up to 80 °C published for elastomer-coated rotors and up to 120 °C for stainless-steel rotor configurations. NBR, EPDM and FKM/Viton elastomer options are available, together with stainless-steel rotors for selected applications.
Selecting the correct LB pump means matching the flow, differential pressure, viscosity, solids size, chemical compatibility, temperature and cleaning regime to a specific LB-S or LB-M model. That selection directly affects wear rate, seal life, energy use and unplanned downtime. AxFlow can support application review, pump sizing, material selection, commissioning, spare-parts planning and service throughout the installed life of the pump.
