Atlas Copco GVS A is a series of oil-sealed rotary vane vacuum pumps intended for general industrial rough-vacuum applications. Vacuum level, gas composition, moisture load and changing capacity requirements influence both operating reliability and total lifecycle cost. Selection should therefore begin with the actual duty point and the conditions at the pump inlet.
The series uses single-stage, air-cooled, directly driven oil-sealed rotary vane design. This construction addresses the process duty by providing a defined pumping principle and an arrangement that can be integrated into the plant. The operating effect and service requirements must be evaluated for the selected size and configuration rather than assumed for the entire range.
The original range covers GVS 16–630 A and identifies gas ballast, oil mist filtration and an inlet non-return valve. Confirm achievable pumping speed and ultimate pressure at the specified operating point; maximum figures are not necessarily concurrent. Review utilities, exhaust management and any relevant process-media restrictions before ordering.
For operations and maintenance teams, attention to pump sizing, controls, installation access and planned service helps reduce avoidable interruptions. AxFlow can support product selection, discuss maintenance and spare parts, and help identify the appropriate version. Contact AxFlow to confirm suitability, availability and a quotation.
