Product features
- Low-dead-space flow paths → reduce product hold-up in critical process switching.
- 3-, 4-, 5-, 6- and multi-way configurations → consolidate complex routing into one valve body.
- Positive outlet isolation → supports reliable switching between alternative process lines.
- DN 25–450 standard range → covers a broad spectrum of process-line sizes.
- Pressure classes up to ASME 2500 standard → suits demanding high-pressure duties.
- High-pressure variants up to ASME 4500 → extend the range for selected severe-service applications.
- Broad material selection → supports corrosive, high-temperature and difficult media.
- Multiple connection options → simplify integration into flanged, welded or special piping systems.
- Manual, hydraulic, electric or pneumatic actuation → matches plant automation philosophy.
- AxFlow application support → helps coordinate valve geometry, materials, actuation and service.
Critical process lines often need to divert, combine or switch product streams without creating stagnant pockets where viscous, polymerising or high-value media can remain. SchuF 3, 4, 5 and Multi-Way Diverter Valves are developed for these duties in chemical, petrochemical, polymer, plastics and refining plants, including switching between pumps, filters, pipelines, storage tanks or downstream process units. Their low-dead-space architecture is particularly relevant where conventional T-pieces and multiple ball valves would increase hold-up volume and cleaning complexity.
The diverter uses an engineered piston/disc arrangement to connect the required flow path while positively isolating alternative outlets. SchuF offers 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-way and more complex multiport arrangements, with flow paths and outlet angles configured for the application. Depending on project requirements, valves can be supplied with flanged, butt-weld or hub connections and manual, hydraulic, electric or pneumatic actuation, with options such as heating jackets, flushing ports, smart positioners and automated control panels.
Current SchuF technical data lists standard diverter valves from 1 inch (DN 25) to 18 inch (DN 450) and up to ASME Class 2500 / PN 320, with high-pressure designs up to ASME Class 4500 for selected sizes. Standard temperature data extends from approximately −100 to +500 °C, with broader limits possible by engineering review, and a wide choice of steels, nickel alloys, titanium and lined constructions is available. The exact pressure-temperature rating, material, trim, actuator and sealing concept must always be confirmed for the specific medium and duty.
Using one purpose-built multi-way valve can simplify piping compared with several interconnected valves and fittings, reducing potential dead legs, flange joints and maintenance points. Correctly selected construction can improve process cleanliness, switching reliability and continuity in severe services such as viscous residues, back-flushed lines and high-pressure process systems. AxFlow can support application review, material selection, actuation, spare parts and service planning for SchuF diverter installations.
