Product description

Noval LCV160-CS is a self-operated lift check valve for pipelines where reverse flow must be prevented automatically. It is suitable for hydraulic and pneumatic systems, water heating, steam service and a range of chemical, food and general industrial applications where the medium and pressure class match the selected construction.

AxFlow lists the range as PN63–160 with spring return. Connection options include flanges according to EN 1092-1 and butt-weld ends according to DIN EN 12627, while working temperature is listed up to +550 °C. Atmospheric sealing complies with TA-Luft requirements.

The spring-assisted lifting disc closes when forward flow falls or reverses, helping protect pumps, equipment and process sections from backflow. Correct selection should consider pressure drop, minimum opening force, installation orientation, medium cleanliness and the dynamic behaviour of the system because check valves can influence pressure surges and transient flow.

For reliable lifecycle performance, the valve should be sized for the normal operating flow rather than pipe diameter alone. This helps avoid unstable disc movement and excessive wear, while planned inspection can identify spring, guide or seating issues before they affect protection. Forward flow lifts the disc from the seat. When flow falls or reverses, the spring assists the disc back toward the closed position. This provides automatic reverse-flow protection without an external actuator.
