The control of the valve actuator motor is integrated in the actuator and there is no need for a control panel with external contactors. Thanks to the large, clearly readable screen, the position of the controlled valve, the applied torque and other information can be easily read even from a distance. The drive parameters are set with the remote control (IR or Bluetooth®). The fact that an absolute encoder is used to fix the position of the drive, which ensures the accuracy and reliability of the position display, deserves special mention.
What is Rotork IQT used for?
Rotork IQT is used for ball, butterfly and plug valves. The exact application depends on valve type, required duty and selected configuration. AxFlow can help confirm whether the actuator fits the process requirement.
How should Rotork IQT be selected?
Selection should start with valve movement, required torque or thrust, duty cycle, power or air supply, control signals and installation environment. Hazardous-area and functional-safety requirements must also be checked where applicable. AxFlow can support sizing and configuration before quotation.
Which technical data should be checked for Rotork IQT?
Key checks include valve torque or thrust, operating angle or travel, operating frequency, supply, ambient conditions, enclosure requirement and control interface. Current IQT Pro/IQT3 Pro generations provide modern diagnostics and communication; exact duty, torque and certification depend on the selected generation and size. The final configuration should always be verified against the selected actuator size and Rotork documentation.
Can AxFlow support service and spare parts for Rotork IQT?
AxFlow can support identification of the installed unit, service planning and spare-parts requirements for Rotork actuators. Availability depends on the exact generation, size and configuration. Provide the actuator nameplate and application details when requesting support.
What should be considered when replacing an installed Rotork IQT actuator?
Several Rotork IQ generations remain in service, so replacement should not be based on the family name alone. Mechanical interfaces, torque or thrust, electrical supply, controls, network protocol and certification must be reviewed. AxFlow can help assess a suitable current Rotork platform without assuming drop-in interchangeability.
