Product description

Valvole Hofmann 11M9-2 is a two-way globe control valve for modulating liquid, gas and steam flows where stable control and repeatable valve positioning are required. It is suited to process, energy, utility and general industrial systems where engineers need a configurable control valve rather than a simple on/off device. AxFlow can support sizing, material selection, actuation and accessory selection for the actual duty.

The valve uses a globe-body construction with a multi-spring diaphragm actuator as the standard pneumatic arrangement, while electric actuation is available on request. An equal-percentage flow characteristic is standard and a linear characteristic can be specified where the control loop requires it. The four-port body arrangement simplifies inspection because the lower flange and plug/stem assembly can be accessed without fully removing the valve body from the pipeline.

Current manufacturer data covers DN 15 to DN 300 and body materials including ductile iron EN-GJS-400-18-LT, carbon steel WCB (1.0619) and stainless steel A351 CF8M (1.4408). Published temperature limits extend from -196 °C to +500 °C depending on materials and configuration, with leakage classes IV and VI available. Connection options include DIN or ANSI flanges, BSPP, NPT, butt-weld and socket-weld ends, and trim options include PEEK or metal-to-metal sealing.

Correct sizing and trim selection are important for control stability, seat life and actuator loading, particularly when pressure drop, cavitation, flashing or high temperature are involved. The guided stem and plug arrangement, serviceable body design and configurable actuation can reduce maintenance effort and help maintain process availability over the valve lifecycle. The 11M9-2 is a two-way globe control valve for modulating process flow rather than simple isolation. It can be applied to liquids, gases and steam when the selected materials and trim suit the duty. AxFlow can help size the valve for the required flow, pressure drop and control range.
Current manufacturer data lists the 11M9-2 from DN 15 to DN 300. The final pressure class, connection and trim depend on the selected configuration. AxFlow can confirm the suitable version for the installation.
Published body options include ductile iron EN-GJS-400-18-LT, carbon steel WCB and stainless steel A351 CF8M. Material selection should consider the process medium, temperature, pressure and corrosion risk. AxFlow can support the material review before quotation.
The current product is commonly supplied with a multi-spring pneumatic diaphragm actuator. Electric actuation is also available on request, with positioners and other control accessories available. The actuator should be selected from the required fail position, available utilities and control signal.
Selection should be based on flow rate, inlet and outlet pressure, temperature, medium, required characteristic and leakage class. Difficult duties should also be checked for cavitation, flashing and actuator force requirements. Contact AxFlow for valve sizing, configuration and availability.
