Established in 2006, Perth-based APT Water has built a strong reputation for excellence in pump design, supply, and turnkey solutions for a wide range of industries, including mining, industrial, agriculture, irrigation, and residential and commercial building services. The company’s broad product offering includes surface, submersible, multistage pumps, filtration systems, as well as pump controls and comprehensive water system design, fabrication, and commissioning services.
This acquisition marks a significant milestone in AxFlow’s strategic ambition to expand its geographical presence and consolidate its position as a nationwide provider of fluid handling solutions across Australia. With APT’s strong foothold in Western Australia, especially within the iron ore and gold mining sectors, AxFlow is poised to offer enhanced solutions to customers with national operations and scale up its offerings in critical sectors.
A key highlight of the acquisition is APT’s exclusive distribution rights for Xylem’s globally recognised Lowara brand across Western Australia. Additionally, AxFlow gains access to the Permaglass line of fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) pump columns and bore casings, which are highly regarded for their performance in borehole applications, especially within mining, municipal, agriculture and irrigation markets.
Michael Briggs, Managing Director of AxFlow Oceania, commented:
“The acquisition of Advanced Pump Technologies is a major step in strengthening our national presence and reinforcing our capabilities in Western Australia. APT’s deep market knowledge, outstanding growth trajectory, and established partnerships—particularly in mining and irrigation—align perfectly with AxFlow’s long-term strategic vision. We are excited to welcome the APT team into the AxFlow family and look forward to jointly delivering exceptional value to our customers.”
Andrew Dean & Glenn Bagley, Directors of Advanced Pump Technologies, added:
“We’re very proud of the legacy we’ve built at APT Water and believe that joining AxFlow will open new opportunities. Our alignment in values, commitment to quality, and focus on energy-efficient solutions like the Xylem Hydrovar product range and Permaglass will empower us to grow, both within Western Australia and beyond. We are excited about the journey ahead.”
Ole Weiner, CEO of AxFlow Group, stated:
“AxFlow is already a leading distributor of fluid handling equipment in Europe, and now we are aiming at growing our presence in the Oceania market. This acquisition is another step in this strategic direction. We are excited to strengthen our capabilities in Australia and continue building on the strong foundations that the APT team has established.”
With this acquisition, AxFlow secures an even stronger foothold in key segments and enhances its offering of energy-efficient and innovative fluid handling solutions across the Australian continent.
