SANDPIPER Containment Duty is used where hazardous, corrosive or environmentally sensitive fluids must be transferred with additional protection against leakage. The series is relevant for engineers and maintenance teams that need controlled transfer, practical installation and reliable operation in processes where pump stoppages can quickly affect production continuity.
The pump uses an AODD design with additional diaphragms and an intermediate containment chamber. This chamber can provide visual, mechanical or electronic leak indication depending on configuration, giving operators earlier warning before process fluid escapes externally.
The range covers sizes from 1/2 inch to 3 inches, maximum capacity up to 1060 l/min and maximum differential pressure up to 8.8 bar. The same data states an operating temperature range from -40 °C to 177 °C, depending on materials and configuration.
The containment concept is valuable where chemical exposure, environmental compliance and clean-up cost matter. By helping contain fluid after a diaphragm failure and supporting monitoring options, the series reduces incident risk and gives maintenance teams time to plan corrective action.
