Key product features
- Self-priming wet-prime design → allows dry installation above or beside the liquid and can simplify pump access.
- Open-blade impeller → provides a wider passage for suspended solids in wastewater and contaminated process liquids.
- Suction height up to 8 m under suitable conditions → supports applications where the pump must operate above the liquid level.
- Air-handling recirculation principle → evacuates air from the suction line and maintains pumping after priming.
- High suction port with non-return valve → retains priming liquid and helps reduce re-priming time after shutdown.
- Multiple casing materials → supports selection for corrosive, abrasive and general industrial liquids.
- Wear plates and heavy-duty impeller options → allow the hydraulic end to be adapted for more abrasive service.
- Cutter option for soft solids → helps reduce blockage risk where fibrous or soft solids are present.
- Multiple electric, engine and hydraulic drives → enables stationary, mobile and emergency pumping configurations.
- ATEX-certified versions available → supports properly specified installations in hazardous areas.
Victor Pumps S is a range of self-priming centrifugal pumps for industrial wastewater, dewatering, process transfer and other duties where the suction line may contain air or the liquid may carry suspended solids. The pump can be installed dry above or beside the liquid level, which can simplify access for inspection and maintenance compared with submerged arrangements. Depending on liquid properties and pump size, the manufacturer states a maximum suction height of up to 8 m.
The S-Pump uses an open-blade impeller and a wet-priming recirculation principle. During priming, air entering through the suction line mixes with liquid retained in the casing; the air is separated and discharged while the liquid recirculates until the suction line is evacuated. A high suction port helps retain priming liquid in the casing, while a non-return valve limits backflow and helps reduce the time required for re-priming.
The range is available in multiple construction materials, including cast iron, bronze, aluminium and stainless steel, to address different corrosion and wear conditions. Victor Pumps also offers wear plates, heavy-duty open impellers, cutter arrangements for soft solids, different mechanical-seal options and threaded or flanged connections depending on configuration. Current manufacturer documentation also confirms electric, explosion-proof electric, petrol, diesel and hydraulic drive options, with ATEX-certified versions available for suitable hazardous-area duties.
For maintenance teams, the dry-installed layout and access options can reduce the effort required to inspect the impeller, wear components and seal compared with equipment that must be lifted from a sump. Selecting the correct materials, seal arrangement, solids passage and drive is essential for service life and operating cost, especially with abrasive or corrosive media.
