This is a submersible pump that has been constructed in such a manner as to allow it to be used in a dry well.

Product description

This is a useful format for dry wells that may be subjected to occasional flooding. There are air-cooled and oil-cooled versions, depending on the size and rating of the pump.

It is also available to Atex explosion-proof standard if required.
