Phosphoric acid, also known as “ Orthophosphoric acid” is a moderately strong inorganic acid of a reducing nature. The specific gravity ranges from 1.3 to 1.95 depending on the concentration. At standard concentration, phosphoric acid tends to be very corrosive and can be extremely damaging if it comes into contact with skin or eyes. Material selection is critical when selecting a pump as many metals are adversely affected by pumping phosphoric acid.
