Product description

Lightnin 700/800 is used in large vessels, sludge, mineral processing, chemical production and other high-load mixing duties when very high torque, long shafts and large impellers are required to move difficult fluids or maintain suspension in large process vessels. For engineers, buyers and maintenance teams, the key question is not only mixer power but whether the selected drive, shaft, impeller and mounting arrangement will create the required circulation, shear, suspension or dispersion in the actual vessel.

The product is built around a heavy-duty high-torque mixer drive engineered for large top-entry installations, with robust bearings, gearing and structural support for continuous duty. This construction allows the mixer to be configured around vessel geometry, fluid properties, duty cycle and the process objective instead of treating all mixing duties as the same application.

ITT Flow Technologies currently highlights Lightnin Series 700/800 for high-torque water and wastewater duties such as sludge mixing and aeration, where long bearing life and robust operation are important. These verified characteristics should be used together with tank dimensions, liquid density and viscosity, solids or gas loading, operating temperature and required batch result when selecting the final configuration. AxFlow can help check the duty and identify the correct Lightnin configuration.

Heavy-duty construction is intended to protect uptime in high-value processes; correct duty sizing reduces structural overload, inefficient mixing and premature wear on shafts, bearings and gearing. Correct selection also supports predictable spare-parts planning and reduces the risk of downtime caused by under-sized mechanical components or an impeller that does not match the process. Lightnin 700/800 is used for large vessels, sludge, mineral processing, chemical production and other high-load mixing duties. Suitability depends on the vessel, media and required mixing result. AxFlow can help review the duty before selection.
Selection should consider vessel dimensions, liquid density and viscosity, solids or gas loading, operating temperature, duty cycle and the required flow or shear pattern. Drive power alone is not enough to define mixer performance. AxFlow can help identify the appropriate configuration.
The impeller should be selected according to the process objective, such as blending, suspension, gas dispersion, flocculation or high-viscosity circulation. Different Lightnin impellers create different flow and shear characteristics. AxFlow can help match the impeller to the vessel and medium.
AxFlow supports Lightnin service and spare-parts discussions for installed equipment. The required parts depend on the exact mixer serial number, drive, shaft, seal and impeller configuration. Providing the equipment details helps identify the correct service solution.
Replacement should be based on the actual duty rather than only the existing motor power or mounting dimensions. Tank geometry, process conditions, shaft length, impeller duty and structural loads must be checked before a replacement is selected. AxFlow can help assess a suitable Lightnin replacement or upgrade path.
