Andritz Ritz AD Series is designed for process duties where air or gas in the suction line can disrupt conventional centrifugal-pump operation. It is used with solids-containing or viscous media in pulp and paper, sugar, food, water supply and wastewater treatment, including installations with difficult suction arrangements.
The AD series combines a single-stage, single-flow centrifugal pump with a semi-open impeller and an integrated water-ring vacuum pump. The vacuum system removes gas from the medium and prevents air from accumulating at the impeller inlet, supporting self-priming operation even with higher gas content or unfavorable suction piping.
Current ANDRITZ technical data lists flow up to 9,000 m³/h, head up to 190 m and delivery pressure up to 40 bar for the AD series. The manufacturer specifically positions the semi-open impeller for solids-containing and viscous media and the integrated vacuum pump for priming and degassing duties.
An integrated vacuum pump can eliminate the need for a separate priming tank and can simplify systems that otherwise struggle with air binding. Correct impeller, seal and duty-point selection still determine wear and energy use, and AxFlow can support sizing, configuration, spare parts and service planning.
Before final selection, engineers should verify required flow and head, liquid properties, solids or gas content, temperature, material compatibility, motor data and installation conditions against the exact pump configuration.
