Andritz Ritz VP & CP Series is used for difficult media such as sludge, industrial wastewater, suspensions, media with high air content and liquids containing coarse particles or long fibers. These duties require hydraulic passages that reduce the risk of blockage and components that can be maintained when abrasion or solids cause wear.
Both families use free-flow hydraulic concepts developed for coarse media. VP uses a specially developed free-flow impeller and open passage for suspensions and slurries, while CP uses a semi-open vortex impeller and a large open cross-section; the CP modular design allows the impeller unit to be removed from the installed casing for maintenance.
ANDRITZ technical documentation lists particle sizes up to 60 mm for the VP series and free passage up to 140 mm for the CP series. Current CP data lists flow up to 1,800 m³/h, head up to 75 m, pressure up to 16 bar and temperature up to 120 °C.
Open free-flow passages can reduce blockage risk, but abrasive solids still make wear monitoring and correct material selection important. The CP modular impeller unit and serviceable wear components can shorten maintenance interventions, while AxFlow can support the choice between VP and CP, parts identification and service planning.
Before final selection, engineers should verify required flow and head, liquid properties, solids or gas content, temperature, material compatibility, motor data and installation conditions against the exact pump configuration. This reduces the risk of oversizing or unsuitable component selection and gives maintenance teams a clearer basis for spare-parts planning.
