EFAR WK8a/WK8c ball valves are intended for on/off isolation of gas, petroleum-derived substances, formation water and other Group 1 fluids covered by the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU. The family is relevant to gas, fuel and petrochemical pipework where a compact quarter-turn valve and a choice of flanged or welded installation are required. Correct specification is important because Group 1 media demand careful checking of pressure, temperature, connection and safety requirements.

WK8a is the flanged version and WK8c the weld-end version. EFAR specifies a reduced-bore flow path and floating-ball construction for the family. Flanged connections are according to PN-EN 1092-1, flanged face-to-face dimensions follow PN-EN 558-1, and weld-end installation lengths are specified according to PN-EN 12982.

The current WK8a/WK8c range covers DN15 to DN150. For Group 1 duties, EFAR publishes working pressures from 1.6 to 2.5 MPa and an operating temperature range from -30 to +110 °C.
