Noval TBV40-CS is a triple-eccentric, metal-seated butterfly valve for industrial isolation duties involving liquids, gases and steam. The geometry is intended to reduce rubbing between the sealing surfaces during opening and closing, making the design relevant where temperature, pressure or cycling make soft-seated butterfly valves unsuitable.
AxFlow lists TBV40-CS from DN80 to DN1000 and PN10–63, with forged steel, cast steel or stainless-steel constructions depending on the required configuration. The valve can be operated by hand lever, gearbox, pneumatic actuator or electric actuator and uses an ISO 5211 actuator interface. Atmospheric sealing meets TA-Luft requirements, and shut-off tightness is stated to exceed EN 12266-1 requirements.
The metal-to-metal seat and triple-eccentric motion make the valve applicable to hydraulic, pneumatic, hot-water and steam systems as well as chemical, food and other industrial services when materials are compatible with the medium. Correct selection should consider pressure-temperature rating, required leakage class, cycling frequency, actuator torque and the possibility of thermal expansion.
For lifecycle cost, the low-weight butterfly-valve architecture can reduce structural and actuation demands compared with heavier valve types at larger diameters. However, long service life still depends on correct sizing, proper installation and maintaining the actuator, stem sealing and seat surfaces.
