APV HT Series

APV HT Series is a horizontal scraped-surface heat exchanger range for heating or cooling viscous, sticky, crystallising and particulate products that can foul conventional heat-transfer surfaces. Continuous scraping removes product from the heat-transfer wall, helping maintain thermal performance, product quality and process availability in difficult duties. The HT Series is an OEM APV offering supported by AxFlow for configuration verification, service and OEM spare-parts planning. Request a quote for HT Series from APV.

Product features

  • Continuous surface scraping: The horizontal scraped-surface arrangement continuously removes product from the heat-transfer wall, limiting fouling and maintaining heat transfer during demanding processing.
  • Difficult-product handling: The series is applicable to viscous, sticky, crystallising and particulate products that can cause performance loss in conventional heat exchangers.
  • Horizontal configuration: HT construction provides a horizontal scraped-surface platform for integration into process lines where equipment layout, access and servicing requirements favour this orientation.
  • Process-specific selection: Configuration can be verified against media properties, thermal duty, pressure, temperature, utilities and plant interfaces instead of relying on generic series selection.
  • Hygienic application coverage: AxFlow identifies food and beverage, meat processing, pharmaceutical, beauty and personal care among the industries served by the HT Series.
  • Quality and compliance support: AxFlow lists 3-A, CE, EHEDG and ISO 9001 among the certifications associated with the series. Exact approval requirements should be verified for the selected configuration.
  • Serviceable construction: Planned inspection, cleaning and replacement of applicable wear components support equipment availability and predictable maintenance.
  • OEM lifecycle support: AxFlow can support model identification, configuration checks, service planning and OEM spare-parts requirements, helping preserve fit and process continuity throughout the equipment lifecycle.

Product description

APV HT Series is specified for thermal duties where product properties make conventional heat exchangers susceptible to fouling and declining performance. Typical conditions include viscous, sticky or crystallising media and products containing particles. The rotating scraping arrangement continually clears the heat-transfer surface while the product is processed, helping maintain thermal exchange rather than allowing deposits to progressively insulate the surface. This operating principle is applicable across food and beverage, pharmaceutical, personal-care, meat-processing and chemical duties.

The operational value is sustained heat transfer under conditions where fouling can otherwise increase cleaning frequency, process variability and downtime. Keeping the heat-transfer wall clear also supports more consistent product temperature and can reduce fouling-related thermal resistance. Correct selection remains dependent on the actual product and process conditions rather than the HT Series designation alone. Media properties, required thermal duty, cleaning regime and utilities should therefore be established before specification.

The HT Series uses a horizontal scraped-surface construction in which mechanical scraping acts directly on the heat-transfer wall. AxFlow's current series page does not provide verified technical datapoints for model-specific pressure limits, temperature limits, materials or dimensions. These parameters should consequently be confirmed for the exact HT configuration being supplied rather than inferred from other APV scraped-surface exchanger families. AxFlow specifically recommends verification of operating envelope, media, pressure, temperature and utilities before ordering.

For existing equipment, the installed configuration should be identified before assuming compatibility between models, sizes or generations. Planned inspection and access to verified OEM wear parts can reduce avoidable downtime and the risk of incorrectly specified replacements. AxFlow supports APV HT Series identification, specification checks, service planning and OEM spare-parts requirements. For ageing installations, continued service can also be assessed against replacement with a current APV platform based on lifecycle requirements.

APV HT Series is used for heating or cooling viscous, sticky, crystallising or particulate products that can foul conventional heat-transfer surfaces. AxFlow identifies food and beverage, meat processing, pharmaceutical, beauty and personal care, and chemical processing among its application sectors. Final suitability depends on the actual product and operating conditions.
The current AxFlow HT Series source does not provide verified model-specific construction materials. Wetted materials, scraper materials, seals and other construction details should therefore be confirmed for the exact configuration before specification. Material data from other APV scraped-surface exchanger families should not automatically be applied to the HT Series.
The horizontal scraped-surface arrangement mechanically removes product from the heat-transfer wall during operation. This limits accumulation of viscous, sticky or crystallising material that could otherwise increase thermal resistance. Maintaining a cleaner transfer surface supports more consistent heat transfer and can extend operating periods between cleaning interventions.
Selection should be based on the actual thermal duty, product properties, pressure, temperature, cleaning regime, utilities, connections, controls and available installation space. AxFlow states that verified technical datapoints are not available in its current source material, so final model limits and compatibility must be confirmed for the exact configuration rather than assumed from the series name.
Maintenance planning should account for inspection, cleaning and replacement of applicable wear components in the scraping system. For replacement equipment, the installed model and process interfaces should be verified before assuming interchangeability across sizes or generations. AxFlow can support model identification, service planning and OEM spare-parts requirements, as well as assessing continued service against replacement for ageing installations.
