APV Gaulin Homogenizers are specified for continuous processes requiring controlled particle or droplet reduction and stable distribution of components. Typical applications include milk and other dairy products, beverages, sauces, emulsions, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products, as well as chemical and industrial formulations. In dairy processing, for example, homogenization reduces fat globule size and distributes the fat phase more uniformly to limit separation and improve product consistency. The process can also contribute to finer texture, controlled viscosity and improved storage stability.

The homogenization process uses a positive-displacement pump to force product through a precisely restricted homogenizing-valve gap. Pressure is converted into turbulent flow at the valve, breaking down particles or droplets and distributing them throughout the continuous phase. Gaulin models use a monoblock liquid-end construction, while model-specific configurations can incorporate different homogenization stages and pressure-control arrangements. The equipment must therefore be specified against both the hydraulic duty and the required product result.

The current AxFlow portfolio identifies Gaulin as a modular high-performance process homogenizer platform with maximum capacity of 50 m³/h and maximum pressure of 600 bar.
