Product description

Waukesha Cherry-Burrell DP4 is used in hygienic and process lines where pigging is applied to recover valuable product before CIP and where two dissimilar fluids must remain separated through the valve. This is relevant in food, beverage, dairy, personal care, pharmaceutical and chemical processes, especially for viscous products where residual product in the line can increase waste, cleaning demand and downtime.

The DP4 extends the D4 mixproof platform with a piggable flow path. Its double-seat arrangement separates the upper and lower pipelines in the fail-safe closed position, while a long stroke, balanced lower stem, seat lifting and cavity spray cleaning support product handling and cleaning of product-contact seals. Control-unit and bus communication options are available for automated operation.

Verified manufacturer data states sizes from 1.5 to 4 inches, AISI 316L product-wetted parts and a maximum pipeline pressure of 10 bar. For EPDM and HNBR, the stated maximum operating temperature is 135 °C, with short-time higher temperature limits defined by the manufacturer. Seal materials must be selected against the product and cleaning chemistry.

For total cost of ownership, pigging can recover product before cleaning and reduce the amount of residual product film that CIP must remove. Universal seal kits across selected sizes can simplify spare-parts planning, while correct sizing and cleaning-sequence design reduce the risk of avoidable downtime. AxFlow can support valve selection, configuration review, service and spare-parts planning.

Waukesha Cherry-Burrell DP4 is intended for the specified process duty. It is based on Waukesha Cherry-Burrell process equipment series technology and should be matched to the actual process duty. AxFlow can support selection and availability checks for the required application.
Waukesha Cherry-Burrell DP4 should be selected by checking the duty point, media behaviour, temperature, cleaning method, connections and any series-specific operating limits. Verified manufacturer data states sizes from 1.5 to 4 inches, AISI 316L product-wetted parts and a maximum pipeline pressure of 10 bar. AxFlow can help compare the verified data with the required installation conditions.
Piggable flow path enables recovery of valuable product before CIP and reduces residual product film in the line. Double-seat mixproof design keeps dissimilar process fluids separated in the fail-safe closed position. The final configuration should still be checked against the real process conditions.
For Waukesha Cherry-Burrell DP4, integration should be checked against the existing piping or equipment layout, connections, process conditions and cleaning or control requirements. The verified process equipment operating envelope should be compared with the actual duty before replacement or upgrade. AxFlow can support the practical review of configuration and installation requirements.
Yes, AxFlow can support identification of the correct Waukesha Cherry-Burrell DP4 configuration and discuss service or spare-parts requirements. Maintenance planning should reflect the process criticality, wear parts, seals or service items relevant to this series. Contact AxFlow for availability, product selection and a quote.
