Waukesha Cherry-Burrell W80 is selected for aseptic process lines where the valve stem area requires a liquid or steam barrier in addition to normal single-seat valve functionality. The platform supports shut-off, divert, tank-outlet and regulating duties in applications where aseptic integrity, cleaning and service access are important.
The W80 stem-flush adapter seals around the valve stem and provides the barrier medium. The W80A version adds sterile flushing of the body-to-adapter O-ring, extending the aseptic barrier compared with the standard W80 arrangement. The adapter is designed as a direct replacement for the standard W60 adapter while maintaining the same overall installation dimensions.
Verified manufacturer information lists 3-A, CE and ISO 9001 certification and identifies model functions including W81 shut-off, W82 divert, W84 tank outlet and additional throttling and HTST variants. Final selection must confirm the required barrier medium, elastomers, temperature, pressure and valve function for the specific process.
Using a common dimensional platform can simplify evaluation when an aseptic upgrade is required, but compatibility must be verified for the installed valve and process. Correctly specified flush media and seals are critical to the cleaning and aseptic strategy. AxFlow can support configuration review, service and spare-parts planning.
