Honeywell Enraf VITO is used where operators need representative product temperature data for inventory calculation, custody transfer and storage monitoring. The portfolio ranges from single-point probes to multi-element VITO LT and VITO MTT systems, with optional water-bottom sensing at the tank floor. This makes it relevant for oil, chemical and other bulk-liquid storage where temperature compensation affects inventory accuracy.
VITO probes are installed vertically in the tank and connected through a VITO interface to compatible radar or servo tank gauges. VITO LT uses nine temperature elements, while VITO MTT uses sixteen elements to provide a more detailed temperature profile. Combining level, temperature and optional water-bottom measurement through the tank gauge can reduce separate cabling and simplify the measurement architecture.
Honeywell specifies VITO LT/MTT probe temperature capability from -55 to +135 °C, hydrostatic pressure up to 5 bar and temperature accuracy of approximately ±0.1 °C for LT/MTT probes. The VITO interface communicates with the tank gauge through HART and is rated IP66/IP67. Probe construction uses AISI 316L stainless steel, and selected versions carry ATEX, IECEx and other hazardous-area approvals.
Accurate temperature measurement supports more reliable standard-volume calculations and helps identify stratification or product-condition changes inside the tank. Long probe life depends on correct mechanical installation, material selection and protection against excessive movement or loads. AxFlow can help specify the correct VITO probe type, integrate it with Enraf tank gauges and plan service or replacement for installed systems.
