Plenty STM Swivel Angle with Belt Drive is used in industrial tanks where liquid movement has a direct effect on product uniformity, temperature distribution, sediment control or storage stability. It is suited to storage and process tanks where operators need to redirect flow across the tank floor for sludge suspension, BS&W control or tank-cleaning duties. Typical selection factors include tank geometry, liquid properties, operating level, required circulation pattern and the consequences of poor mixing for product quality or maintenance.
The STM configuration combines side-entry installation with an adjustable swivel angle, allowing the impeller discharge to be redirected rather than fixed in one position. This is particularly useful where settled solids or bottom water must be mobilised across different areas of the tank. The drive and sealing components remain outside the vessel, supporting access for inspection and planned maintenance.
The STM combines a heavy-duty belt drive with a swivel mechanism that can change the mixer entry angle by up to 30°. A one-piece helical-pitch impeller and positive tank shut-off arrangement support efficient circulation and maintainability. Exact motor, seal, material and mounting configuration should be matched to the tank, liquid and operating environment during selection.
From a lifecycle perspective, the side-entry arrangement can reduce the need for intrusive tank access while keeping major service components accessible from outside the vessel. Correct sizing and positioning help maintain process continuity, reduce the risk of stratification or sediment-related problems and support predictable maintenance planning. AxFlow can help confirm the correct Plenty configuration, materials and availability for the application.
