Field Service & Workshop Engineer

AxFlow has an exciting opportunity for a Field Service & Workshop Engineer to join our team based out of our Huddersfield facility. This role offers a varied and hands on opportunity for an experienced engineer to work across both field and workshop environments, supporting a wide range of pump and mechanical equipment. If you have a strong background in mechanical engineering and enjoy working both independently on-site and collaboratively within a skilled workshop team, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Field Service & Workshop Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering expert service support to our customers across a variety of sectors. You’ll be responsible for commissioning, repairing, maintaining and testing pumps and mechanical equipment – both at customer sites and at our Huddersfield workshop.

Your main duties will include:

  • Attending client premises to carry out contracted works with professionalism and efficiency
  • Stripping down, inspecting and identifying faults on customer pumps
  • Providing detailed reports and recommendations for necessary repairs, including parts identification
  • Carrying out repairs and testing of equipment, ensuring high standards of safety and quality
  • Collaborating closely with the Industrial Workshop Supervisor to resolve technical issues
  • Completing accurate service reports, timesheets, and documentation
  • Ensuring full compliance with RAMS, site safety, and company procedures

The Candidate

We’re looking for a hands-on and reliable engineer with strong mechanical knowledge and the flexibility to thrive in both field and workshop settings. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have proven mechanical engineering competence and a solid understanding of industry practices
  • Hold electrical fault-finding and commissioning experience (desirable)
  • Be able to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Possess a full, clean driving licence
