Sodium Hydroxide is an inorganic compound, usually known as lye or caustic soda is an alkaline with a strong metallic base. Caustic soda is available in a number of forms including granules, pellets, flakes, and solutions prepared with different concentrations. Sodium hydroxide is used to increase the alkalinity of a combination to neutralise an acid.
The main challenges when pumping caustic soda come from its aggressive nature and the fact that its viscosity changes with temperature.
