Coping With Low NPSH
Low NPSH is a common issue and is one of the major causes of damage to pumps
There are many differnt solutions to the problem of low NPSH. These solutions can include, running large pumps at slow speeds, modifications to pumps such as inducers, using pump types with a initial pressure drop across the impeller, lowering the pump into the ground to increase the NPSH or installing pump types that are less suseptable to cavitation and variable pressure damage.
